Buddhism

This is my report on Buddhism a religion related to Hinduism.

Founder: Siddhartha Gautama was a spiritual teacher in the north eastern region of the Indian subcontinent who found Buddhism. The time of his birth and death is uncertain.

Holy books/Sacred Texts: Mahayana schools recognize all or part of the Mahayana sutras. Some of these sutras became for Mahayanists a manifestation of the Buddha himself.

Religious Holidays: Vesak is the birthday of the Buddha and the most important festival in Buddhism. On the first full moon day in May, Buddhists all over the world celebrate the birth, enlightenment and death of the Buddha in a single day.

Dressing/ Clothing: The woman wear head coverings. They wear mostly black and doesn’t go anywhere without their heading piece. Men usually wore normal clothes that Americans were jus bright colors mostly.

Rituals/Customs: Buddhism had 4 rituals or customs out of the 4 only one really standed out and that’s meditation. This is a form of mental concentration that leads ultimately to enlightenment and spiritual freedom. These are two main types of Buddhist meditation: vipassana and Samantha. Meditation is a way to get calmed down or just keep sounds out of your head.

Number Of Followers: There are 365 million followers most of them are in china; Japan and Korea are the top followers.
